Car is automatic. Every once in a while, the car won't turn on unless I put the car in neutral. I didn't know what it was before, so I replaced the battery, and to my amazement, it didn't fix a thing. I almost did the starter, but someone told me it could be the "neutral safety switch." Thoughts?

Thanks!

thats probably just for a standard, i dont see why an automatic has a neutral safety switch, maybe something that wont let it start unless its in park. I know many automatics wont let you take out the keys or start the car if its not in park. I doubt that your problem, unless you are forgetting to put it in park after your done driving the time before.

If it was the starter then it most likely wouldnt start at all. My old sentra had the starter go on it one day and it didnt even try to turn over.
