I live close to Vancouver, BC. I got rid of my Drl on my P5 and just use my parking lights (signals) durring the day. The reason was that I'm using silverstar bulbs and they don't last that long. My guess is that they don't get the same volts while on durring the day (DRL)? Cause as soon as you turn on the headlight the same bulb burns brighter. Any way I now know these bulbs have a year warrenty at Canadian Tire.

why would it be required to have day time lights? the sun is plenty light
I think that why, If you get blinded by the sun you might still see the headlights(?)(shocked)

but if you get blinded by the sun you cant see much, or as far as my knowledge goes when i get blinded by the sun i cant see anything and close my eyes and turn, but i do it like a man:)

canada cars are all required to have DRL's now. They increase overall visibility in a variety of conditions and have been proven to decrease accidents

Yes that's right. DRL runs dimmer b/c of less current.

Yes, that's the real reason. =)

Some ppl lose DRL b/c they get an HID conversion kit and DRL messes the kit up by not providing enough current, causing the lights to flicker incessantly. The fix is a high current relay that draws power from the the battery and a side effect is loss of DRL.

in the older version of drl when he module fails , nothing elses is affected but now it can affect alots of stupid things
like on my other cars my module fried and the blue bulb that tell u if ur highs are on wasnt workn ! unless i pull the handbrakes
they affect acc. that are usefull to make u replace the module
money racket..
