Damn Kids!

GRRR...so I go to brooklyn this weekend for a LAN party...and some little kids were playing kickball out in the street...one of them hit my car (twice) and set off my alarm...because it scuffed up my hood. 30 little scratches in an area about the size of my fist...just clear coat scratches, but scratches nonetheless. me=teh pissed. Any advice on how to get them out?

Get them out? If you're talking about the kids, just shoot em.
Oh, you mean the scratches? Well, try some really gentle rubbing/buffing compound and then use some Meguiars polishes and waxes. I had to do it after taking out some cones in the car and also on my bike. Someone dragged their key across my tank on the bike. About a 9 inch scratch. After about 15 minutes of lightly buffing the scratch out, it's about 90% gone. I could probably spend a little more time and polish it out.
Best bet in my opinion.

DuPont No7 rubbing compound first to get the deepest scratches out, then DuPont polishing compound (get the one that is safe for clearcoat) to finish the job, then a cleaner, then wax. If you ise these with a power buffer, be careful. I use them by hand, and on each finer step I make the area I am working with about 2" bigger so it blenda better with the rest of the car. If you have an old body panel or old car to practice on, that would be worth it.

I would take it to a professional. No need to practice doing something like that in your car.

A paintshop can do that with their eyes closed and since it's not that bad they shouldn't charge you alot.

since the scratches are only in the clear coat do NOT use a rubbing compount....it will take the clear coat right off.....if they are no deeper than that....just get some meguires mirror glaze and some really soft rags....with just a little elbow grease it will do the trick...and it won't take long.....I have done this many times.

Use Meguair's Professional Series #9. It will take out the swirl marks out of oyu rpaitn and chances are it will take them out for this also. Check otu their site, use The Pro stuff #9. I bought some and I am going to use it this week.
