i fixed it, the axle back muffler was loose, just needed to be tightend
you mean it had to be tightened to the rest of the exhaust?

What extra heat? If anything, there would be more heat from leaving the shield on. With the shield off, the airflow under the car is able to pull heat away from the exhaust pipe, which is not covered by a shield anymore. There will not be extra heat due to removing the lower heat shield.
The upper heat shield? Maybe. I didn't have any reason to remove that one.

Agreed. I am more worried about the upper heatshield.
Btw, how many heatshields are there ? There is the one covering the exhaust
manifold, one over the downpipe ... and it's too dark to go look for other one's.
If I understand correctly, the purpose for the heat shield is to keep the heat
in the exhaust tubes. I think I saw somewhere that removing this insulation will actually rob HP. That's why we see race engine headers wrapped with insulation (header wrap).

The purpose of the lower heat shield is to keep grass parking lots from catching on fire.
You don't have to take it off if you don't want to. I'd much rather live without that awful noise. If I lost 1 HP, oh well.
There are only two shields from what I saw. I didn't look real closely at it.
