is there anything that works for improving cell phone reception at all? i know those things on ebay have to be a gimmick but something that actually works? i need an extra one or two bars thats all to make calls from my apt.

You still have the X427? Does it have an external antenna jack? If so external antennas do really well.

That fits the 426 also. I have one that I used for my T720 at my parents house, it made all the diffrence in the world.

who's your carrier?
If it's Verizon, you can dial *228, wait for the prompt, dial one.
Once that's done, dial *228 again, dial two.

Cingular also has this feature, but I dont know the dial code.

I had that sticker thing that u placed on your battery that supposedly boosted your reception and I put it on at work and watched the bars increise by nothing. Garbage.

If you have fast internet connection look into that Vonage thing, I'm gonna hook it up soon.

vonage?

blyznoo what does that do?

justin, how does that anteanna work? external power, must be attached outside or what?

No, it's not powered, it's just an external antenna. I just stuck mine on a high place in my room and it worked great. Vonage is voIP home phone service.

the cord is long enough you can sit at a desk or you have to stand up by a window?

can you elaborate more on the noIP{ thing

Eh, Broadvoice is a better deal than Vonage. :D

I'm gonna do the $25/month first and see our minutes then maybe I can drop to the $15 a month for 500 minutes. My verizono home phone is $42/month and no long distance. The whole set up for vonage and the 1st month is like 75 bucks and they ship you everything. (wiggle)

You may need to get a new phone or get it fixed too. My phone started getting sucky service. I brought it in and they told me that the phone was at fault. I needed a screen also so I am just waiting on a new LG from warranty

[threadjack] I pay 9.99 for unlimited in-state, the have unlimited to US and 30 countries for 19.99, setup is like $60 something, and they too ship you everything. :D [/threadjack]

The cord on the antenna is long enough, about 8'-10'.

the barrage of stupid questions in this thread is maddening, learn to use google (freak)

maybe some people dont giv ea **** what the companies say and want to hear it straight from the customers mouth. its easier to ask on this forum than it is to root through pages of absolute bulls*** on google.

What I was told was that if it's that easy, the phone manufacturers would have already done it. Then they could claim that their phones recieve better reception than the other guy's phone...

One thing I miss on my Nokia 6820 is an external antenea. Maybe It's just me, but I think a phone with an external gets better reception. In the manual, they have a little diagram of where the antenea is and tell you you shouln't put your fingers there to get better reception..

dude chill. i dont even look at google anymore if i think some people can or have used it here.

justin i got my do hicky in today, it doesnt do a ******* thing. is the end of the ant that looks like a cable connection supposed to plug to anytthing?
