cx9 fuel gauge problem, does yours do this?

Thank you in advance for your help.

After filling-up the gas-tank, the fuel gauge is where it needs to be, past the "F" mark on the fuel level indicator. However, I can drive 60+ miles and it never moves, then in the next 10-15 miles, it will move from above the "F" mark, to between the "F" mark and the 3/4 mark very rapidly. After the fuel gauge indicator makes this move, it then gradually moves as the gas is consumed, as every other car i have ever owned does [8 cars/suv's]. Has anyone else experienced this with their 08, 09 Mazda CX9?? Your help and feedback is greatly appreciated.

My 08 CX9 fuel gauge acts similar to yours and matter of fact my MS3 does also but maybe not that bad.

They gave me a basic CX9 while they fix some things in the GT. The basic 08 CX9 also stays above the "F" mark too for about 50-60 miles before it starts to descend. However, the decent is not near as profound as mine. I believe this is something I am just going to have to accept.

I have never owned a Mazda b4 and bought the GT Aug 09. If you all have had yours for 6 - 18 months and have not noticed this, maybe i am being too critical.

update from Mazda - Fuel Gauge readings

The Mazda Service Mgr called me and said the software that reads the fuel gauge starts to do so only when the reading gets to a certain level. In this case for me, it is right below the "F" mark. Mazda said there was no immediate fix for it at this time...(fuoops)...okay, sorry with the bad language...

I am paraphrasing from the owner's manual of an '03 Yukon:
'The gas gauge may read full when the tank is not full and may read empty when the tank is not empty. This does not mean the gauge is operating improperly.'
Seems like manufacturer's have given themselves a pass in terms of fuel gauge precision. I guess you get used to a car's gauge over time but the CX-9's seems particularly out of tough with reality.

Previous 3 cars were toyota and they all did the same thing.
The oldest corolla was not quite as bad.
I still have a matrix and it is the same type of thing about 40 miles then the needle starts moving, but a much smaller gas tank.
