That's what I meant: "Stuff that a rock could hit". I should have been more clear, but I was going with the spirit of the title "Body panel material...."
My Z06, though, that was 100% aluminum as far as I know, aside from maybe fasteners and bolts and a few hard-points.

No, body panels on Corvette started with fiberglass material and resin. Later it added SMC plastic and carbon fiber. Z06 does have aluminum-based chassis. We're joking back to the old days that if you crash a Corvette, you'll be sitting on the ground as all fiberglass body panels would be disintegrated!

Despite looking like the steel chassis of the base Corvette, the C6 Z06s aluminum frame weighs nearly one-third less. Yes, and the front left fender was a $1700 item. Cracked on delivery. Carbon fiber. I watched them build my car from the frame up. I was referring to the chassis, in that case. I do need to clarify better. Anyway, yes, that's pretty accurate on sitting on the ground. My friend flipped his 3x. However, he was just fine. Small scar/scratch. passenger was fine, too. No injury at all. Corvettes are awesome like that. Nearly every high speed wreck results in a walk-away.
