Hi, I just purchased an Audio Link USB MP3 Player Integration Kit for
my new CX-7 Bose radio. To install this kit I will need to remove the
Head Unit for access to the back end connector. Has anyone removed
a head unit with minimal or no damage? How do I remove the bezel?

Does anyone have one of these units installed yet? If so, have any
pictures?

thanks

I just completed my Audio Link USB MP3 Player Integration kit installation over the weekend and this thing rocks. The install was a snap but be VERY careful removing the Head Unit. I used a flat head screwdriver with masking tape but use a flat plastic device like a puddy knife if you can. The removal diagram I received from RPM says to start removing the clip from the bottom but I actually found it easier to start from the side. Once the side popped I just used my fingernails to pop out the rest of the HU. The install took less than 1/2 hour.

Yes the PLASTIC puddy knife(s) is key to removing the bezel. The bezel not mar resistant but with good tool and what seems a bit excessive force you will have no issues. Also, I remember about 1/4 of the way up on the bezel frame there is a clip on either side that is not very forgiving in letting go and difficult to even try to collapse the clip so that it comes out smoothly. In my opinion these clip are a bit redundant.
