2013~2016 CX-5 Overhead console replacement question

I have a 2014 CX5 Grand Touring built in Feb 2013. My sunroof button broke so I ordered a new console. The new console came with only 2 connection points, my old console has 3 connection points and 3 connectors. The Mazda parts desk at the dealer is no help identifying the reason for this. Does anyone know what that third connection does? I can provide pictures if needed.

Thanks,
Jay

I know this reply is really late but just wanted to share my experience with the same issue. I just connected the two that my car had even though the new console had three and it's working fine. Not sure what the third one is for but it doesn't seem to be an issue.

The new console comes without the Mazda "black box" for the 3rd connector. I transferred mine from the original console but am going crazy trying to figure out what that block does!
I've compared my original console (2015 CX-5 GT) to one out of a 2019-2023 CX-9 and the new KD47-69-970D-75 I purchased. Both my original and the CX-9 version had the black block in place (no idea what the function is) and all three appear to be interchangeable (minor differences) and the block/switch was easy to transfer from the original console to the new service part.
Does anyone know what this block does?
