cx-5 already have rust spot?

I have the exact same thing, same paint color and I've found the spots on both sides and the trunk lid. Anyone have any luck with their dealer? Correct me if I'm wrong, but shouldn't the dealer take care of this?... whatever the solution might be. Seams crazy that I should have to deal with this on a 4 month old vehicle.

its just surface contaminants.... nothing wrong with paint.. my pearl white paint job just shows imperfections more than other darker coloers

It is worth a shot having them take a look at it. It usually comes from contaminants picked up while the car is being transported; but some dealers may argue it happened after they had the car. Anyone know what parts of the car are covered with some type of protection during transport?

I didn't go to the dealer with mine because I figure more often than not their detail department would likely mess up more than they fix. And on mine it was just a few spots so the clay took care of it in less than 5 minutes (which was also less than a drive to the dealer)

Here are the pics....

More pics to come..

We have the same paint color and after cleaning our car at the beginning of the week we noticed these little rust specks all over the car... not only near the bottom but all the way to the top. They look exactly like the ones in your picture. It's really disappointing since we only got it in June 2013 and this is our first new car and we never even ran into this issue with our previous used cars. Has anybody had any luck with the dealer? We'll probably make an appointment tomorrow but I feel like it'll be a waste of time. :(

These spots are caused by bad detailing. The car detailer never used a clay bar when cleaning the vehicle before giving it to you. With time water will enhance the contanaments and cause it to rust. Being a former detailer at a mazda dealer we made sure we always claybared and waxed each an every car that we sold. I have been out of the car industry for many years I remember the cars that came of the transport truck were full of rail dust. Sometimes so thick not even cleaning compounds would remove them. That's why a claybar is necessary

My 2014 cx5 is having the same problems now. Being white you notice the problem more. I know for a fact the detailer basically just washed and delivered the new vehicle to me without using a claybar or even waxing it. I suspect because the dealer was so busy and didn't have any time. I have thought about bringing it back to have them clean it properly. Had it not been for winter I would rather donut myself

Hi there, just to let you know that my wife's car has actually the same spots, it is also a white car but not a Mazda. I did talk to the dealer and it is road rash and can be removed by using clay to clean the car. Claying the whole car is not something for the weak of heart and since I have a weak heart I have tried to outsource it to a detailing company. To no avail yet.

Jacked ? The emblem is on my girlfriend's 8 months old CX-5. These are not bubbles guys it's just water. We were washing the car. The rust flecks are the main problems. This is just the rear end but there is spot like that all over the car. The dealer will take pics and send them to mazda canada, at least that's what they said.

The white spot you're talking about must be the reflexion of a cloud.

This is an iPhone pic I will take some better ones later on...

A white car only exposes these specific flaws... Darker colors just hides surface contamination- they still exist.

Not buying a white car doesn't fix anything.
