CX-5 2016 front wheel caliper clearance

:
-- 2016 CX5 GS
Not sure if this is normal, although I guess with everything being stock (17" wheels) it has to be, but the front clearance from the break caliper to the back of the aluminum rims is about a 1/4 inch.

The back wheels have much bigger clearance, I can actually stick my fingers in between the caliper and wheel. :)

I don’t know if it’s “normal” but it poses no issues. Front calipers are generally larger than the rears.

Thanks, that's good to know. :)

Maybe someone with stock 17's and a CX-5 from 2016 can confirm theirs is also like that...

It's that way on my 2014 GT both with the OEM 19" wheels and the OEM 17" wheels that my snow tires are on. I know because when I swap the tires in spring and fall I usually crunch at least one finger between the wheel and the caliper as I wrestle the wheel to mount it. Only happens in the front though.
