1992 MAZDA PROTEGE: we cannot get the CV cup and spline out of the transmission. Tried a pry bar, screw driver and hammer - no luck. Any suggestions... thanks.
UPDATE (JUNE 13, 2005): gotter done. used a pry bar and carefully slipped it in between the cv cup and the transaxle, with just a little wiggle room rather then wedging it in tight, then yanked hard (snapped the bar back), and it broke loose.
getting the new one back in was a trick because of the snap ring on the spline. you need to get the tips of the splines lined up then shove hard against the end of the inner cup (hard enough to squeeze the snap ring as it slides into place).
