A good shop, whether they specialize in Hondas or Mazdas, should know not to cut springs. It's not like Mazdas are some completely different type of machine from Hondas. They're all just cars.

i would'nt let those monkeys touch my car..lol

Regardless of "pro" comments re: torched or cut coils, it's a no-no. Buy the set you need to get the job done correctly.

You cut the coil, you alter the spring rate. You torch the coil, you alter the rate and screw up the temper. Either way, it's not done by professional chassis builders or anyone looking for optimum performance and correct chassis response.

Period.

I was under the impression that Goldline offered springs with the 2" drop.

Is this the same guy who told you to cut your springs?

In all fairness, if you want a 2" drop, you can either get the goldlines for a fair price, or spend lots of moolah on a good coilover setup.

WHy are you set on a 2" drop. Both Eibach and Tein springs give a 1.5 inch drop. I love my prokit.

A bumpstop is a small rubber pad that mounts on the shock shaft. If you bottom out going over bumps or dips in the road, the bumpstop absorbs the impact so your metal suspension pieces don't take as much of an impact.

Cutting a bumpstop shouldn't allow you to go any lower unless you're already riding on the bumpstops, which you shouldn't be.

I hope this made sense.

what is the bumpstop? can you explain

try the ION springs. the race springs i think they are called. thats the lowest drop that i know of, but i think its crazy to get them because in georgia there are too many pot holes and i've seen one car get stuck in a 7 inch pot hole at school.

ive been told that the best springs are Espelir...im not sure if this is true or not but just what someone on the boards told me and he had the eibachs on before the Espelir and he told me he liked the Espelir better...i beleive it is more of a drop then the eibachs as well i beleive 2 inch? unsure though...but i just bought springs and struts for my p5 and i got the Espelir i havent gotten them yet (shipping problem( but i get them this following week and will install then in the future seeing as how its winter here and just snowed a s*** storm....but i couldnt tell you how good they are besides word of mouth..if you need anymore info on whom i got them and who gave me the info just pm me and i can let you know

HAHA, cut your springs? That's not a good idea, but I did have a friend that heated his springs and then compressed them to lower his car. Needless to say, he owne a Honda Civic.

this isn't a honda forum and you're not driving a civic... don't cut your springs please...

Eeek guys, sudden bashing of hondas. Not very nice, eh?

I like this guy. Didn't even let dexters post get to him. A better man than I, lol.
