Cutting CAI?

New guy here. I've had my speed6 for about 5 months now. I'm thinking of cutting my mazdaspeed cai 6 inches past the MAF sensor. Just curious if I'll experience any ill effects if I do this. CEL light, stumbling etc.

just buy an sri and sell ur cai

yea dont cut the CAI to make it A SRI witch you take a chance in messing it up anyway.. sell ur CAI and buy an SRI.. maybe if u get a good deal ull have some $ left over too.

Because of the bends associated with CAI, they require a certain straight length after each bend to recondition the airflow. If you cut it, you very well could have something worse than when you started.

Thanks for the replies. I'd like the convenience of a SRI. It's a bit of a pain pullin the front wheel every time I want to clean the filter.
