Custom turbo manifold interest?

Correction the kit that I was referring to was the Begi kit. seen here.

i was thinking. if you make a kit that relocated the turbo(even just over a little) wouldn't the folks with fmics need to rework their piping? kits like turbolife is cut to specific lengths and cant really be reworked.

not raining on the parade. just curious

good point on the IC piping, but if people can relocate their MAF, i cant imagine this would be too much worse.

in all reality a few inches shouldn't make too much of a problem. A longer coupler placed right would fix that anyways

this is def. going to get done fast lol, cause my thunder mani is cracked.

btw this guy is my roommate and my car is going to be used for test fitting too.

so for the IC concern we will be able figure that out with my car. I have the hiBoost kit.

I think I know the answer here, but if you designed a mani that relocated the turbo by a few inches, would those of us with stock replacement downpipes be able to use it without ending up with a completely cockeyed or leaky exhaust system? haha

Or would the design differences between one that relocates the turbo, and one that keeps it in the stock location be minimal enough that you would offer both?

the intercooler piping is one thing, but more than an inch relocation on the turbo will probably be a no-go for the exhaust. its up to him if he wants to offer a EM/3"DP combo and a bolt-on EM, but there are a bunch of replacement EM's already out there... maybe not in this style, but well see.

by the way OP - if youre really serious about this you might want to get your AMM paperwork together, the process takes about 2 weeks.

I'm def. looking forward to this, are yall making to only work with fmic's or with the smic as well?

sen2two, are you on OF? i like the rx7. Fatti, let me know when the new mani is on your ride i want to check it out.

Probably won't really matter since either way if the Turbo moves any both types will require some sort of mooded pipes. It would be much easier on a SMIC though. all you'd have to do is cut the pipe on a flat spot and remove some piping then use a coupler and mount them back together. Just like we do with a relocated MAF.

yes sir...

For all those wondering about the intercooler/exhaust fitment when the turbo is moved over, that will be adressed during fitment of the prototype. The main reason im moving the turbo over, is to clear a 3" DP. The manifold will come as a "kit" with the DP.

Im still looking for a stock MSP manifold to build a mock up JIG off of. If anyone has one or know who ahs one, send PM my way...

good call with the kit. pay no attention to what low_psi said, some people will back out no doubt but overall in my sales i lose about 10% from posting to completion.

and like i mentioned, someone talks about this once a month, but no one ever does it. ever. theres a lot of people who need DP's and EM's and would love to upgrade.
