I have this idea in my head to cut off my shifter and take out the OEM bushings and installing the torque solution shifter bushings instead do you think it would work out and make any difference or would it just be a bad chopped shifter?

I'll have to go with option 2. that's Just a cutoff short shifter, not a short-throw shifter. short throw shifter actually changes the lever arm below the pivot to alter leverage.

What I did on my msp was cut about an inch maybe alitle bit more don't remember lol and then weld on watever I cut off from the top to the bottom...the shifter was shorter and the throws were a lot shorter than before....the shifter bearly moves in between gears I love it

I would be a bit worried about missing a gear at that point

I've actualy never missed a gear and its been about half ayear since I've had it like that.....I have a megan racing one I could sell u if your interested but it actualy stand alito taller than an msp shifter not much though and the shifts are about the same distance

save your money get a good shifter up until 2 days ago i had a TWM SS and loved it yeah i paid $125 for it but IMO its worth it. But like I said 2 days ago i made a trade and got me a hard to find not sold anymore Brand New Kartboy SS. So im pretty stoked, now you can cut yours ive seen people make their own SS by altering their oem one. In the end if its what your comfortable with, then have at it, me i wouldnt want a custom one. If funds arent available wait and save for the TWM or save a few bucks and get an ebay one theres plenty on there that will do the same job as the more expensive ones, only difference is the play from side to side. So what ever you decide to go with best of luck
