Has anyone seen, or done anything like this with their Mazda's? I am looking to start this soon and was wondering if anyone had any pics or pointers for me.

Thanks!

I believe one the SU cars has the center portion of the dash and center console painted red on his MS3

personally, itll look terrible if its just spray painted red. It needs an almost matte OEM finish to look good.

+1 like any interior painting, if done well it can look amazing, but if done poorly, can look like ass.

agreed. Needs to look OEM. I wouldn't go with an outrageous/high contrast color or do it yourself with spray paint unless you do the proper prep work and do a proper paint job

I think maybe if you did like a crinkle red coat on the top center dash part that would look good. When I say crinkle Im talking about the texture on older hona civic valve covers...that rough texture. Its hit and miss with interior stuff. Been there done that. I tried putting seude on that peice and it was a huge EPIC FAIL!! So I just got a new peice and am gonna leave it. If you left the ac control area alone and did the rest of it.. I think that look alot better too. And dont color the vents either lol

its my car with the interior painted. Its painted true red to match the outside of the car. Heres a pic.

hahahaha I was just about to post this pic in here lol. I was going though my pix on my computer and found it. Looks amazing Strick. What did you use as filler for the boost gauge in the vent?

that looks tight. I am thinking of doing almost exactly the same. What did you use for the paint and procedure?

That looks awesome, it is just like the true red paint, was it actual true red paint or? Looks great! (except for the door handle trim, but that still looks ok)

thanks, its a homemade vent pod. I used the OEM outer ring and 1/4 hard board for the center(filler). Then i tacked them together with apoxy and sanded and bondoed it together.

Thanks,I prepped it all myself and had a bodyshop paint it true red and clear coat it. Good luck with your project.

Thank you, it true red automotive paint. It matches the outside of the car exactly.

This is definitely something I need to be doing, but how tricky is it to take off all those pieces? I've got the piano key black trim and it shows every little scratch!!
