Custom Intake Manifold

Very nice!! I can't imagine there being a whole lot of room between the intake and the firewall for that unless you get one of the Cowl inductio hoods and let the air flow in from the back of the hood. THAT would be sweet!! I've seen those intakes on four cylinder fords make almost double the stock power. Can't argue with that!

exactly. there is a lot of potential there! there probably is enough room if it is designed correctly. the stock IM is very very long

These guys do pretty good work, atleast from what I've heard from all the people who use their products. I never hear stuff like "essentialspeed screwed me over' or 'they sent me a faulty piece'. They do excellent work. And the price- $750 cdn=$563.048 USD

Twilight you should do the quad throttle body setup because that would be so so so sweet. Those things sound amazing! If you are having trouble figuring out runner lengths and throttle body sizing, there are some companies out there that design those based on WHP and injector size and what not. I remember talking to a shop before, they modified a miata quad throttle body setup. But back to the subject....has anyone tried to call essential speed about this?

guys....i have seen the work in person..and they do good work. its funny how everyone is an expert....especially when making expert opinions from pictures.... :)

protegepoe - i've found a few basic websites that talk about IM design etc, but they arent so good. when i really look into it i'll have to speak to quite a few people.
but i could pretty safely say it'll be unique! hehe

twilight...

i am also working on indvidual throttle bodies..

i have worked out most of the costs and it is going to cost me about $900...

if properly done ... you can gain a TON of power..

A local shop here does a quad throttle body on a Hyundai Excel.
1500cc SOHC engine.

They also have turbo and supercharger kits for them.

Wheel HP on the 3 kits is similar.....

They don't do one for our cars though......

you talking about Cappa Performance? i was working with them for a dual TB set up for my honda....they only claim a 15% gain over stock....not worth my money.

the toughest thing to do with individual TB's is syncronizing all of them ...

its tough to make your car streetable without tons of hours of adjusting and tuning

they dont do well with slow increases in throttle change... they tend to be pretty rough...

my idea with the dual TB set up was to remove the pring that snaps the TB closed and replace it with an electric motor. This would also allow it to snap open just as it snaps close. An electric actuator is small and an easy conversion, but doing 4 of them would be tricky. From what I understand of individual TB's is that they all open at the same time. I was told with the dual TB that they would need to open differently, but I can't imagine opening individual TB's at different times....that would make one cylinder create more power than others. They would have to all open at the same time. I agree tuning will be key, but I've seen this on domestic cars and the power made is worth it!

i know a guy with a SOHC Neon ACR (1st gen)
with home made ITB's
and a crane #13 cam header and exhaust ...

with the stock ecu!!

and he ran a 13.8...

the stock acr's run about a 15.8 1/4 mile..

hmm i never claimed to be an expert but doesn't it make sense to use photos of your best work on a website promoting your products? i'm not sure why they would use photos of bad looking work to advertise. since i haven't seen their work in person all i have to go on is people's opinions who have seen the work and the photos on their site.
