Custom Intake Manifold

Well, especially for autocross, its just much more practical and streetable- plus, personally, I like the idea of being able to whup a turbo car without F/I.... Just a matter of taste I suppose.

Turbo Matty P

I'll ask for ya, but they are on holidays for a few days for the festive season.
Being summer here, it is a bigger deal for hols for everyone than it is there.

I got a reply today!

That was in response to my orginal email that said

So it looks like they dont have one made yet, but are going though all the proper ways to make an intake manifold. So only time will tell.

why claim a 25whp power increase when its not even made yet? hell anyone can do that..

good luck doing that against a properly tuned turbo motor

over a very tight autocross setup, i'd back a NA car with a bit more power over a turbo car anyday....mind you not massive amounts less of power.

still it will take more then 25whp to beat a turbo car(tuned correctly) in any kind of racing and i don't believe the claims of 25whp for the intake manifold anyhow...especially on something that hasnt been made yet

yeah i dont beleive 25whp with just an IM either. just compairing to my setup. my cams and headwork can make according to the flow figures 216hp...that's not at the wheels...in NA form...but the rest of the system lets me down at the moment.

but the IM would be a great investment for turbo guys...esp those with standalone ecu's!

You should be seeing those cam gears pretty soon, eh Twilight? =) I can't wait to hear what you can pull from those! I'm sure your car'll be a LOT more driveable after you push the torque curve back a bit. =)

I was wondering, though; Does anyone know if this system is going to be a quad TB setup, or if it's going to be a log-and-runner setup, ala most aftermarket ones? I would imagine the log and runner setup if it were to be a simple bolt on installation, given the MAF would have to be worked around in order for the quad TB to work properly.

according to propartsusa.com they were sent monday so fingers crossed he sent them the way i requested...they'll take 10-12 working days to get to me. hopefully it'll be in the week after new years if i'm lucky.

i certainly have lots of play time to do with them. i know my fiancee is looking forward to having a smoother ride...althought i'm sure the AWR engine mounts dont help! hehe

if i do a quad TB setup, i'll have a plenum, or log as you call it, behind them because i will be going turbo eventually. it shouldnt be too different to a normal quad TB setup, but not quite as good. somewhere between a quad TB and single TB setup

I can see that this thread is old as all hell. I was wondering if anybody has any proof of the gains they claim. I've tried doin a search and cant seem to come up with anything. let me know
