custom fmic - $185

there is nuthin wrong with modding the Crash bar. while i do think the IC is a bit big for what he is running. i really wish more speeds would do the same, trim the crash bar to properly fit a FMIC.

On my escort i didnt have a crash bar. i deleted it, then used a peice of angle iron to mount the IC. keep in mind my escort had more power and TQ than 95% of the speed 6's around. my frame never had any issues after 3 year of about 400hp abuse.

My 6, has a modded bumper support. no issues thus far.

as for a front end collision, HAHA. the crashbars on our cars aint gonna do s*** for a front end collision. not more than a trimmed or cut bar. in a front end crash your screwed anyway at anything over 40mph

Crash bars are not meant to stop the impact. They are meant to properly transfer forces of impact (a collision) to the frame.

As far as having issues with twisting the frame without it... you'll have a hard time doing that with the sub-frame support the 6/MS6 has. The crash bar isn't really enough material to prevent that anyway.

Essentially, it's bad to remove the crash bar completely, but not because of frame twist. Trimming it isn't going to be detrimental though.

haha... if you remove the crash bar YOU DO NOT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT TWISTING THE FRAME WHILE DRIVING THE CAR. the crash bar like said above is souly for a slow front end collision. they are made to take off and be replaced in minor accidents. taking off the crash bar will only be BAD in a 20 mph front end crash other than that dont worry aboiut it. and lets be honest if you are removing or thinking about removing the crash bar chances are you will be going much faster then 20 if you crash... hoping this never happens to any of you. so again guys dont worry about twisting or bending the frame do to taking off the crash bar... IT WON'T HAPPEN : )

alright everyone, i wanna get this clearrr, haha. i didn't buy this intercooler b/c of the size, the measurements of the actual intercooler are actually like 3 inches bigger than what it had posted on ebay. yes, you get what you pay for, this setup has been more problems than not since i bought it. i had to do custom cutting and add more piping than what was given in the kit, and the biggest problem was finding more elbows and grommets for the piping. harder to find than you'd think!! i cut the crash bar b/c the ic was simply too big to mount under the bar. i'm looking for a front splitter to take away from the brashness of how low the ic sits. no my car doesn't steer any bit different than before i cut the crash bar, and i drive my car, i drive it hard, there's not a day where i don't take a corner hard. and i haven't had any issues with performance.

it's been cold and i've been lazy, but i will get more pics up of the setup. plus i just bought a motorcycle, so my focus has been on that, not so much the car.
