Nice whip!! One question though, what combo. of guages are in your pillar?

Their not hooked up yet but when they are its Air/Fuel guage, oil pressure, and coolant temp. And if i ever get the hiboost kit ill have a boost guage in there too.

very nice man...how hard was it to remove the pieces?

UMM not bad at all, the door panels come off pretty easy, then i took them apart so i could still have the bottom half of the door panel on while i was workin on the top half. Then the 2 pieces on the dash are easy as hell to take off too.

when you told me you were going to paint the interior pieced i wasnt sure about the look. but it looks great. very nicely done! cant wait to see the katzkins

Would you be willing to do this proceedure to other peoples cars. In proceedure, I am talking about all the work up until the painting process. If so, how much would you charge. I just don't have the time or facillites at this point. Thanks
Anthony

I dont know....it took me about 25 hours to get all the prep work done. For me to justify doing that it would have to cost alot. And its a pain in the ass. (thumb)
Plus theres a few little imperfections that i overlooked just because i knew they were going back into my car. In order to get them ALL the way perfect (like i would want for someone else) it would take even longer.

Ok so it took a lot of work to get the texture off of the top of the door pannels, but i got it done. The color is PPG paint and its the color code of my car. At night if you take a flash light to it you can see all the purple in it, just like my car. Anyways enjoy.

This came out really sharp! I was thinking of trying something like this and it's nice to see that someone has already done it and it came out really nice.

I'm actually looking for a wrecked M3 in my area to pull panels from so I can do a set without screwing up my car if they don't come out well. I thought I saw one at a junkyard a couple of miles from my place....but it was not to be. Damn.

just try it, worst that can happen is that you have to redo it. Anything can be fixed with a little time and effort.

Do you notice what is called "vailing glare"; a reflection on the windshield from the painted piece above the gauges? If so is it bad enought to be concerned about?

Why did this get bumped. Bah, my favorite 3 on the forum (I love the winning blue / gunmetal combo), and that interior painting looks amazing. I wish I did as good of a job with the couple pieces I painted silver (pieces that were already silver stock).

It looks good, I'm not sure if I would have painted the piece over the gauges, but overall I like it, winning blue is really an awesome color (second to velocity red of course :D ) and it looks like you did a great job. I've seen too many interiors that people painted and look like crap because they didn't take the time to do it right.

Makes me want to paint that fake CF piece and those top armrest pieces on my car velo red.
