cup holder

i am just wondering, how do you guys use the cup holder. is there an insert that you have to use. cuz it sucks nothing stays in place everyting spills or falls out.

the cup holders in proteges are pretty useless, flip lid or otherwise

Mine have always been okay, except for the passenger side.. you have to support any tall cup that's in there or else it will fall out.

i got a msp cup holder piece and it holds cups pretty well compared to the flip up one that came with the mp3. buttttttt it doesnt sit flush with the other pieces for some reason. it sticks up a bit but cups are held

I also have problems with the passenger side and tall cups..my passenger side drank lots of ice tea up to date. It holds my large Tim Hortons coffee well in the driver side though.

I wish I knew, it came with the car when i bought it.

They were only in 2003+ models (sedans, P5s and MSPs)

The reason you guys are seeing fitment issues is because the center consoles are actually a little different from '02.5 (I think) and up. The open cup holders stick up because their center console is a little higher at the point.

You'd have to build them up somehow. For some reason I think you'd have a better chance actually modifying the cupholder part. Either way, I like my non-functional, lid-covered cup holders because I think they look cleaner. I don't eat or drink in my car as it is.

I actually put an MP3 (with the lid) cupholder in my MSP, it fits well, does kinda drop a tad bit deeper than the original one on the sides, but not noticeable and looks good.
