i recently crashed my 09 mazda speed3. The damage is all in the front end but has no frame or engine damage. A shop estimated the cost of repair to be 5 to 8 thousand but after adding up the cost of parts they are saying its going to be 10000+. I need some information on where to buy cheap replacement parts or if someone is parting out a ms3. Any information would be much appreciated. thank you

Nick, I edited your post and added the image so people don't have to download the zip file to view it. I couldn't make anything out from the second picture so I only posted the first one.

Unfortunately, I can't see very much from the picture. You're looking at a new hood, from bumper cover, quarter panel, rim, and probably a radiator at the very least. Check out Rosenthal Mazda or a Mazda specific junk yard like MazToy or Mazda Recycling. MazToy and Mazda Recycling are both located in CA so you might be able to get stuff with semi-affordable shipping.

Good luck.

If you don't mind my asking, what happened?

thanks will i appreciate it.
well me and a couple friends were joy riding, just driving around town and i decided to take this road leading into a park thats pretty fun to drive. I turned onto the road and punched it, and maybe about a quarter mile up the road i come out of a turn and my friend in the passenger seat yells at me that theres a gate, so i slam the brakes on and when i realized i wasn't gonna stop in time i veered off to the right to give myself more room to stop but eventually met with the gate. Now i'm very familiar with this road, i've driven it hundreds of times at almost every hour of the day and have never seen the gate closed, i actually don't even recall there being a gate.

That doesn't look like "no frame or engine damage" to me personally. I'd say check Onlinemazdaparts or MazMart, but shipping is gonna be a killer.

Good luck and glad your okay man.

I buy wrecked cars and part them out for a living and that car is most likely going to not be totaled depending on the mileage.

Did the air bags pop?

if you think you and your buddies are going to buy it back and bolt on the parts and call it a day........ you are going to be in a world of trouble haha. Not saying that you dont have the knowledge or skill but your frame is def. kinked. They make them now to crumble to help with absorbing the hit.

cut and weld a new rad support is def. going to be needed. Look it over very well before you decide to buy it back.

A new full frame ford SUV and Trucks now have a crumple zone in the frame.

Depends on the laws of your state, but in FL, if the damages are greater than 75% of the ACV of the car, it has to be totalled. I agree, you WILL have frame damage from that. They won't be able to discern frame damage without doing the teardown first. If they're saying $10k in parts/labor, and they haven't torn down yet, that amount will go up.

And if it's fixed, it may never be right again.
Total it out, buy back from insurance and part out the whole car, make $$, and get a newer genjuan.

+1. I wouldn't fix it either. Never going to be right.

The shop that it's at has already down a teardown and told me there is no frame or engine damage and the air bags did not deploy. My actual bumper never really came in contact with anything, most of the impact accured right above the bumper, about headlight level, where a bar from the gate crinkled my hood and fendors and pushed in my radiator. The shop told me because the damage accured above the bumper, that prevented the airbags from deploying and from any frame damage.

your front wheel looks like it's pushed back a bit from stock. so your going to have a bit of suspension work also id bet.

The shop gave me a list of parts I need and the prices they have come up with for each part. They told me I could research the parts if I think I could find cheaper ones. Here's some pics of the part list and prices, let me know if they seem high and if the parts needed and amount of labor to put these parts on corresponds to the price their charging me
