Crashed car today :(

Somebody has a value for it somewhere. Generally insurance companies go by average retail value. If they can't find a value because the vehicle is too new, they'll probably go by purchase price with a deduction for depreciation.

Instead of sitting there wondering about it, you could call them and ask. At least then you'd be in the loop. They may even want some information from you about the value.

Don't forget to get your mod parts back.

My excise tax bill came last week for my 04 Mazda 3s hatch, they value my car at $8750 !!!!!!!

r u missing a 1 in front of that amount? or is it in GBP? 8K is pretty low.. ugh

If it's anything like home values, taxable value is 50% of market value. (dunno)

You guys think your insurances are high, I pay 6 k a year Canadian for 2 cars. Clean record, never even scrapped a mag on a side walk or had a fender bender that was my fault, got some tickets but out of the province. So it doesnt follow me here :D

I'm really sorry about your car dood. Accidents like these affect resale value a bit.

Mazda 6 GT V6 MTX and Mazda 3 GT GFX ATX

Yup, I can believe it's totalled, but get a replacement value for your next car, I have it on both cars if anything happens ever, I get full price for what I paid for it. And that makes me a happy camper :D

rum, congrats!! take care of this one!

Hrm... Do you have maybe 0 deductible? Or do tickets really increase your insurance that much? I can see they ripping you off on the Mazda3, new car, blah blah blah, but the Mazda6 has been out longer.. hrm.. still seems a bit high, not terribly high, just a bit, who are you with?

i have heard of a full replacement within the first 2 years of owning a vehicle but "ever"??? that seems much.. then again u are paying a lot so it may be part of your premium..

That's why Mikey444's premiums are so high, he has replacement cost. It's almost a completely different type of policy, way expensive.
