Cracking steering wheel

Anyone having problems with their steering wheel cracking on the bottom portion of the wheel? I have small little cracks/flakes that are forming. Is this something that you think the dealer will fix? I've only had the car for 6 months. Thank.

Breaking up is hard to do.

All leather will crack with age. 6 months is a bit quick and I'd ask the dealer. Have you been using any leather conditioner (Meguier's or Mother's) on the wheel and shifter? The leather steering wheel on my '92 Saturn has cracked from the sun at the top, but it was many years before it did so.

Have not been using a conditioner. Probably going to swing by the dealer and if they replace will use conditioner in the future. I'm very religious about using sun shades and my windows are tinted. Besides, the damage is occuring on the bottom of the wheel. Anyway hopefully I can get it replaced without issue. Thanks for the reply.

Not that this helps, but mine is doing the same thing. I'm getting ready to go in for my 20,000 mile service and was gonna ask about it then. Let me know what your dealer says when you go.

Oh crap!!Do you think a steering wheel cover will help prevent cracking cuz I just got a cool carbon fiber pattern/black one today at PEP BOYS.
