I noticed the other day that all the way around the very tip of my muffler was cracked and splitting apart. I have no idea why. maybe it got to hot? has anyone else had this problem?(scratch)

Mines doing EXACTLY the same thing! I never hit it on anything.

the dealership was really good about getting a new one ordered in right a way. They didn't hassel me at all i thought for sure they would have related it to my intercooler and boost controller running high temps or some thing but they were awsome.

Nice, so the dealer replaced it for you?

I already had mine replaced by the dealer but the replacement had a round tip and was about 4" outer diameter and 3" inside. I asked them about it and they said the oval ones weren't being made anymore.

cool, i have the same problem. sounds like they are going to replace it if i take it in. though, i dont really think it bothers me, just nice to get free stuff off mazda ;)

I dont see why not...as long as its still under warranty. I dont know of any muffler that has a 10k life expectancy...well, unless its NAPA

I have seen those at the dealership they appear to be bit less restrictive, notice any difference in performance or sound?(lurk)

Sounds a bit louder and deeper. No noticeable (seat of the pants) gains in power though. It's just a bigger tip, but the piping and canister appears the same.
