CPE HKS SSQV Blow Off Valve Kit

I am gonna purchase this but i was wondering every one on the net has a different opinon does anyone truly know if its better to run recir or vta?

Recirc is always "better" with maf equipped cars. VTA vents metered air that the ecu expects to still be in the system.

I would say get recirculating. I have that same bov on right now but i just ordered the synapse because it doesn't feel right. I would only say to get a vta "100%" if you really wanted one and got a tune. Other then that either get a 50/50 if you have to have any venting at all. you can buy an adapter for the ssqv to make it so it could recirculate which would work well.

Ohhhh i didnt know you were getting the cp-e hks kit. That one is okay since it comes with the recirculating kit. =]

I have been running the HKS vta for about 2 months with no problems except for running a little richer.

I bought this same kit and tried to install it today. I didn't realize you need snap ring pliers to get the damn HKS mounted to the CPE flange. I need to go buy some... nobody I know has these damn things.

On the instructions it didn't say anything about the tools you need for the install? That would be pretty lame if it didn't. I'll be getting a hks bpv next month and that would have pissed me off to go to put it on and not have the tool which I don't so I guess I'll have to go buy that

It did say it in the instructions but I didn't think to ask the vendor or CPE for instructions before ordering the thing. I mean you wouldn't think such a simple thing requires it. Anyway, I just bought a pair of the pliers... ended up breaking a few of the bits in the process but managed to get the huge c clip in place after about 20 minutes of fighting with it.

I was running the cp-e bov kit for 6 months on VTA.. Loved the sound. Never once got a CEL. However I ordered the recirc tube from SU because I wanted the car to run better. Once put the vehicle back to recirculation it immediately ran better. When you would coast in second gear to a stop for instance, the car didnt jerk anymore. Before while reversing, I had to feather the clutch the whole time, now I can put it in reverse and drive it... you just have to measure the ups and downs .... Do you want to give up drive smoothness for sound/backfires

The PG direct replacement HKS SSQV is a direct bolt-on!!!! No tools other than 10mm socket, ratchet, and pliers... Plus, I think its cheaper!!!

I've heard the install of that snap ring is the BIGGEST PITA!!!!
Get the PG kit; its fully assembled and only takes 10 minutes to install!!!!

+1. The protege garage kit is direct bolt-on. Its definitely worth it for the amount of time you save messing around with flanges. If you want the HKS SSQV, get the PG kit.

you'd think ******* cp-e in their infinite wisdom would just install the ******* flange onto the BPV but no... they know it's hard as balls to connect the two things so they leave it to us!! lol

the reason CP-E doesn't install the ring themselves is most likely because you CANT install it without damaging the outside of the bpv..mine looks like I played soccer with it on the street.

Recirc and I still backfire hard with throttle lift from first to second and sometimes second to third. But with flat shifting no respool issues

if i was you man i would just get the forge.. i bought hks to begin with and had installing issues cuz of the injen intake and its wide turn..at first i didnt like the sound of forge but i think its bad a$$ after listening to it for a while.. and its cheaper and a DIRECT replacement.. hks does sound awesome though

I would second that about the Forge. it is abit loud for me but I can drive around it if i need to be quiet. But if its time to run, the valve will let your opponent know you are prepared. it works too. although I am low boosting
