CPE Cold Air intake installed on Mazda 6 MPS (Euro version of Speed6)

To anyone outside of U.S/Canada planning on doing this mod it is not as straight forward on European model (MPS). The aircon pipe is completely in the way and it requires a 2 person install. Heatshield/bracket is fixed to the main intake pipe from underneath the car and then bolted in place. You also have to use a smaller bolt and rubber anti vibration spacer as the spplied one is too big - there is then a clash with the aircon pipe.

Also the factory air box silencer is bolted in using three very hard to get to bolts. Is the U.S one the same??

Pictures attached for reference.

aircon pipe?

and yes the silencer is the same and still a pain to remove

If you look at the pictures you will see the pipe running over the welded bracket on the intake pipe. Was an absolute pain.

Hei..
I've got the MPS as well, want to install a CAI. still haven't ordered but I was going for the CPE as well.

Since I'm a total noob in these things this will be very uselful indeed.
Where did you get the spare parts that you needed?
Also I have heard that there's supposed to be a different driveshaft on the rear axle on the Speed vs. the MPS but I've never been able confirm that, you heard such a thing?
Thanks,
Simon

I just finished installing my CP-E CAI in the MPS (Euro Speed6) and I could use all the original parts and the install was actually easier then I thought, only problem I had was getting the silencer out. One nut was very inaccessable, other then all was good, the anti vibration bolt fitted just fine, came with only 1 nut tho but I added another one so I could fasten it from both sides and the aircon pipe wasn't in the way at all, it was like 2 cm above CAI.

Why didn't you guys remove the Fog light Assembly to get access to the Front Bolts on that Air box Silencer,
My Mazdaspeed CAI went in great after I got the fog light out of there to allow me to see what was going on.

True, should have done that.
