CP-E MS6 dual exhaust may be coming

Personally I'm getting tired of all the people who are slamming this system. Think it's too expensive? Not going to buy one? That's great, now STFU!

If cp-e were trying to make a great deal of money, don't you think they would be charging more for their EMS? Now that could be a money-maker for them, much more than a dual exhaust system that very few people will purchase. We all know that their products aren't the cheapest, but they are very good for the money.

Jordan has laid it all out for us as far as what is going into the system and why it costs so much. He even did some research and came up with examples of systems for other cars that are similar in price. Instead of being thanked for his time and effort, he gets handed another s*** sandwich.

I am all for expressing one's opinion, but enough is enough. No one is going to change how this exhaust will be priced, so if you aren't truly interested in getting one, please let the information flow unimpeded to those of us who are.

Jordan, since as you said it isn't going to help trying to please everyone, can you give us a bottom line assessment of what needs to happen in order for any dual exhaust from you to come to market? Thanks.

well said. I hope some here take notice. Thanks.

Wow...would all of you that are bitching about the cost of this system just move on already. If you dont want to pay for quality then run on down to your local exhaust shop and have them weld one up for you.

This price is not ubsurd. A racing beat exhaust system for my 20 year old RX7 costs about the same.

I told him I understood his price, it's just not something my wallet can handle at the moment, so I won't be getting an exhaust from CP-E (or anyone else for that matter)

I do however want a CP-E EMS, I just want them to be able to crack the ECU so I can get a piggy back unit, and not have to splice/wire anything.

(your arguement about the EMS being charged for more wasn't very logical though, as I said before about things, supply and demand.... the cost of materials, etc. If they overcharged for their EMS it would just drive other people to the XEDE. and on top of that many people I know of are just waiting out the cobb accessport... but I've heard goodthings about CP-E so I'd rather wait for them to try and make a piggy back unit for me to purchase).

Jordan is it possible at all that CP-E will have a plug and play EMS sometime in the future?

ALL owners of this car have a say, pal. Not just the guys who want to overpay for a part.

I think if you re-read my posts you'll see that's clearly not what we're all about. But I do appreciate your feedback.

Then let's bring the price down to something reasonable. I'd love to buy a cat-back from you for my car, but the price is not justified on the current setup or this new one coming out.

I wasn't directing what I said at you. Your posts were sensible and mature with the kind of info that cp-e (or any company) can use positively. As for my example of the EMS, what I was trying to say was that if they were trying to overcharge on this exhaust (as some seem to think), they could make more money by doing that with a product that was more in demand.

From my point of view that statement is patently ludicrous. Since you believe it there is no point in wasting either of our time with expanding upon what I have already said. I agree to disagree with you.

If as you say in your next post you would love to buy from them, then why not post something useful, such as how much you would be willing to spend for such a system. Then they can tell you if that is feasible or not based upon their cost of doing business and you can make your decision based on solid info, not an escalating emotional response.

Dude I have reason to believe no matter WHAT car you had right now......... 350z, rx-8, MS6, MS3, g35, rx-7

you would be bitching about the price........... considering that CP-E is using 304 stainless, and TIG welding...... 1,100 is actually as reasonable as it gets......... without them losing money. I think you need tor research a little more, like I did, on the cost of supplies regarding what is needed for 304 stainless ontop of what is required to do a TIG weld.

Do you even know the difference between a TIG and MIG weld? If you did then you would understand the overhead cost.... even with 409 stainless and a TIG weld the price probably wouldn't drop much under $200 from the current 1,100 for 304 stainless....

You can't make everyone happy......... just because you won't buy it doesn't mean other people will.

Next thing I know you'll be bitching about the 1,100 price of a FMIC for our cars.....

Anyway......... Jordan please let me know the final price of the exhaust regarding 409 SS.... I'd like to see if I can more likely afford that as opposed to the 304.... I understand the costs for the $1,100 but that's just not something I can blow out of my pocket (unless I wait til next years tax returns (2thumbs))

Alright guys, we're still working on prices for the 409 stainless system. The price difference should be significant though, since the price of nickel has become somewhat outrageous lately. I'll update with the price as soon as I get it.

I've had enough cars & been in this hobby long enough to know what's reasonable.

I never said no one else would buy it, did I? If you like to waste your $ go right ahead.

You have a nice day.

You may claim that, and it's also my choice not to believe you, if you'd been in the hobby long enough you'd definitely know the difference between QUALITY and quantity...... a GOOD product, and a cheap ass product......... like everyone said if CP-E were to send their stuff to china, the price would drop drastically..... but quality control wouldn't be as good....

You have a nice day yourself, and good luck to you for finding anything better :D

If you can get the price down enough, I might consider adding myself to that list. Man, can't everyone just chill out? this is the only part I hate about forums (fight)

I never said CP-E makes crap, but there are a lot of other vendors out there making car parts for reasonable prices...

I'm not looking for anything. If the price of the current cat-back comes down a couple hundred I'd probably buy it, but otherwise I am not going to put a cat-back on the car. I'm not losing sleep over it. (ugh)

I've heard some say the single exhaust can yield more hp/tq. Wouldn't the dual exhaust be a little better, or would they yield the same numbers? I would agree that the dual will sound a hell of a lot better. I just don't want my MS6 to sound like a riced out honda and I would like a system to give me the most power.

So if they could make the exhaust and it was $800..... you'd buy it?

That's why I'm interested in seeing how much the 409 SS pipe would run for.......since the 304 is $1,100

No, I was talking a couple hundred off their current cat-back not the dual cat-back they are working on right now. I'd never pay $800 for a cat-back unless I had a C6 or a Viper.

how much is the current cat-back?

I want a turbo back......not a cat back : \

but again.......money becomes an issue, unless next year comes and I get another 6,000+ tax return....
