I'm thinking of switching to this set up to have one uniform intake and inlet. I still keep getting weird surging with my set up and I'm sick of it. Plus my boost is still a little lower than it should be. The surging is not a constant problem and I cranked everything down as tight as possible. Now I just want a enw set up Anyone have any problems with the Corksport like the fitment or anything?

I'd like to know as well. I've read maybe one post by somebody running it that really liked it, but I have some concerns about the lack of air straighteners in the MAF housing. If you read the PDF regarding this product on the Corksport site, you'll see he says testing revealed much more low end without the straighteners in the housing, and the measured fuel trims were within spec for Mazda OEM.

Since the straighteners seem to be the concern when it comes to fuel trims, and others running the Cobb and CPE have said their fuel trims shown on their DH were varying, I wonder just exactly how crucial they are.

Mazda engineers felt it necessary to have them in the factory housing without any regard to the amount of air they restrict, but then again they did design the factory air box and the turbo inlet and one of their primary concerns is a wide margin of safety to protect the motor. I mean really wide like almost idiot proof. Just look at the AFR under boost in this car and all the sophistication in the ECU to prevent knock etc.

Personally I think anything in the MAF housing beyond the sensor itself presents a restriction. Imagine having air straighteners inside your nose for instance.

I would also like to see some testing using some different air filters on a MAF without straighteners. Some of the filters on the market have some pretty cool looking engineering behind them to help streamline the airflow to increase power and I wonder if this could be adequate to compensate for the missing straighteners. The APEX-i filter comes to mind as well as some others.

Anyone else care to add?

I've got the CS intake/inlet and think it's nice. I have not compared to others, so I don't know if it's significantly better or worse than brand X. No fitment problems since I nicked a coolant line during the install. It has performed flawlessly since and sounds good. Good luck with your choice.

Cool thanks for the input. My only major problem is the sugring I experience once in a while in lower gears, higher RPMS while trying to really give it some. It worrys me a bit so I tend not to really get on it much. It pulls like a monster but makes me nervous. It may even be the design of my Fujita being cut down and the lack of a straightner making it happen. Who knows but I want it to stop.

The only thing about the CS that sucked was the crankcase breather hose... its a b**** to get on the valve cover nipple.

Yeah I hope so because I like how it looks too. Thing is my current system hasnt' surged snce the day i ordered the new set up. I think it was cold weather related. Not too sure, but don't really care so logn as it runs right. I'm gonna install this when I get it and sell my current set up.

I have this set up and love it. I had the Cobb before and liked that as well. The CS includes a let pipe which is a plus. you will def feel an increase throughout the gears..
