Well, I got the most beautiful phone call yesterday from UPS telling me that my package from Corksport was set to arrive today. Sure enough, it was delivered promptly this afternoon in expert packaging. All of the parts look fantastic and I dig the little CS logo on the machined piece as well as the silicon hose. All in all I'm pretty excited since this is really the first hands-on power modification I've done to a car in about 2 years since I got rid of my beloved Stage 2+ WRX. Cannot wait to write-up/provide pics of the install/results. It should go down on Thursday since that's my day off during the week...will update this thread then(butt)!

It's on...

and it rocks! I got it on last thursday evening. I apologize for the delay in write-up...been a bit busy.

The Parts:
All exceptional quality, nice t-bolt clamps, great silicone hoses and well bent/machined pipes. A+ on construction. Also a big A+ goes to the detailed instructions that have a simple version as well as a detailed version with pictures and links to online video tutorials! Amazing.

The Install:
The install was straightforward but it did take a bit longer than I had anticipated. That was mainly b/c I was following Corksports fantastic instructions to a T rather than just follow deductive logic and pull stuff off as I went haha. At any rate, I'm vastly more familiar with that part of the vehicle/under hood area now and would have no problem doing it in a way shorter time frame. If you have worked under the hood of a vehicle before, you should not have a problem with the installation of the Corksport Intake/inlet (rockon)

The Gains:
(eek2) Awesome! The spoolup is a little quicker and the car pulls very hard through the mid range, most noticeably in 3rd-5th gears. I can definitely feel an increase in seat of the pants feel and the car just really opens up and breathes better. The sound is a nice addition and personally, I dont think will get old. The turbo whoosh as it is spooling up sounds great and you get a nice kind've "shhhh" noise from the bpv venting into the intake whenever you shift (if you are getting on it - its quiet if your not goosing the throttle). I dont believe I'll be doing an upgraded BPV for sound reasons any time soon (obviously, if it's leaking as some have noted in the previous MS3, then I'll change it). Now, obviously I dont have it dynoed to back up the specific gains Corksport says, but I'd venture to say they are on the mark/in the ballpark. An intake is a must for this vehicle!

Overall, I'm happy with the product, the service and the gains from the Corksport Intake/Inlet and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a relatively easy mod that is a great bang for the buck! I'm stoked to get my Corksport test pipe that will be arriving on Monday. I will post a mini-review on that product as well once installed. Zoom zoom haha!

Nice write up Jake, how about some pictures of how it looks under the hood.

I'll save him the trouble. His installation probably does not have the CS decal on the battery box (whistle):

Jake, Very glad to hear that you like the design and all. We're not only committed to quality and customer support, but we're also committed to constantly improving our products. I'll be sending you and the rest of the first batch of intake purchasers a quick questionnaire so we can gather data from your experience to benefit the future customers who purchase the system. The intake instructions for the 2010 were the first instructions I did in the new format, but due to spending some extra time in the development process, they were not the first product we released with that style of instructions, so I know I need to go back and revise some items!!

Ordered mine yesterday, can't wait to get it on the car. This will be my first mod, hope the instructions are good, I am a little young but ready to learn.
Sure hope the Corksport decal comes along with the SRI.

Wow, that was a great write up. I'm very excited to get mine. I have a turbo xs rfl hybrid on my 2010, should be even louder with the intake.

did u have any problem getting the inlet in at all?? i kno u said a lil bit in ur write up. but i wasnt sure if was just like a tite fit to get ur hands in there or wat

Nah, its not that bad. I just took my sweet old time. I mean - is it tight? Yes...but its absolutely manageable. And a hell of a lot easier than some other installs I've done on my other cars (dropping/bolting the downpipe on my DSM was a b**** b/c of the way the idiot engineers bolted it up and changing the uppipe on my wrx come to mind). Get it and dont think twice!

Glad you are happy with the setup.. I just got a 2010 MZ3 GT and I'm thinking about the CS intake but I can't find dyno info or vids with just the intake and not the exhaust system as well.

Do you guys think it would be a worthwhile addition to a 2.5 GT for the $179? My goal isn't necessarily to make the thing into a racecar, I'd just like a little more hp's and a nice sound.

I think an intake is most defidently a worthwhile addition to a 2.5 for what you are looking for.

Agree, I had a 2.5GT and then traded it in for a MS3 (I buy a lot of cars, apparently because I don't have any other bad habits to waste money on).

Anyway, I made some parts for my 2.5 and when I made a nice aluminum intake for it, it netted 13whp on the dyno. The car really, really responded to it. Now if I could find the thread I jumped on when I first did it, you would see that I said it pulled the power back out. . .which it did the first day I put it on, but the power did come back once the ecu got used to it. . .weird crazy ecu stuff, but in the end, it was a big difference and one that I too would recommend to anyone. I also made a strut tower brace and jigged it up. . .that was a nice thing to have too. Made it fit the standard 2010 3 and the 2010 speed 3 (so it is on my new car now).
