Corksport FMIC SWEET

Anybody check out corksports FMIC/ram air intake system for the mazdaspeed6. I called them yesterday they said that they just finished and tested the same system for the Mazdaspeed3 and it will be for sale soon if you haven't seen it you can look at the one for the MS6 to get a idea. it seems really nice. you get a intake system and front mount intercooler all in one. the made a box and put the intake for the turbo where the old top mount intercooler use to go very nice idea and they say gains of 30WHP and 40FPTQ. check is out at www.corksport.com tell me what you guys think

That looks brutal. I wish they had pics of it installed so I could see how that ram air box looks.

Why is the intercooler core so small in size? Also noticed the exiting pipe into the engine looks rather small as well (boom08)

First let me say all of my corksport stuff is top notch, but that fmic kit is tiny. What is the black stuff on the air filter tube? The air filter box looks like tin foil also? I'm sure this will be fixed in production models...in anycase I already have the Turbo XS fmic coming next week.

I'm no turbo car expert (only driven turbos for 4-5 months...) but isn't ram-air completely unnecessary in boosted applications??

I'm pretty sure this'd be a waste on money. Unless the goal was to get colder air without a fender-located filter. But you'd still have the heat soak issues of a short-ram/short-flow intake. Then again those should be negated by the FMIC cooling the charge.

I don't see any advantages of this over a normal SF intake and FMIC combo. But props to CS for utilizing the factory ducting for something productive
