Corksport FMIC installed with review and pics

use of the existing tmic spot for a CAI seems like a neat idea, but it seems like water could easily get in there, which would be a bad thing.

edit: didn't read the post well enough, apparently this isn't a problem.

this is nice, but i dotn like the vta only thing. TXS wins my vote so far(spin), IM just seriously waiting for cobb, sell my current stuff and buy their intake fmic and ap

good luck...but seriously, don't hold your breath

1. Cobb has been promising the Evo AP for literally years and they just released it...after the car has already been discontinued..

2. Cobb has been promising an 07 Legacy GT accessport for almost a year..with nothing so far.

3. Cobb is going to be hard at work to get the 08 WRX and 08/09 STi accessport out, and the MS3 is likely to take a back seat with that face-off. The Subaru market for tuning is just much much bigger..

I hate to say it, but I doubt we will see a MS3 accessport or FMIC from cobb in 08.

and I am not just some geek off the street either-- I work in the industry and have a professional relationship with Cobb. Don't get me wrong, I love Cobb stuff, but people just need to understand that it takes a LOT of R&D on these projects and Cobb has a lot on their plate right now.

I predict we will see a Cobb AP around the same time as a working, affordable version of the Tesla roadster and Duke Nukem 4. Ten minutes later, the universe will have expanded its matter, and will cease to exist.

Good thing about the Cobb A/P is that you can have custom maps made and loaded onto your A/P by any pro-tuner who has the software. Who cares about the base maps?? I want a custom map for my setup!

Nice FMIC btw ;)

Nice FMIC btw ;)

Thanks!

If someone wants a re-circ nipple we can add one on the kit. It is an extra $60 and I would need to know what diameter you would need.

FYI, The sale does end on 1/1/2008 for the 10% off and free shipping for the Speed3 FMIC kit.

Hey whats up Derrick! Hey Im gonna have you throw a recirc fitting on the kit for me soon. Still no issues with water(lots of rain recently), the car is running outstanding! I would just like the option for recirc and to see if there is a difference between the two. Is this something that can be done on a Saturday? Please let me know. Thanks again!

Laloosh you would have to ask them about the diameter of the housing.

The list price on the kit is $1099 and the sale price with the free shipping for the month of December is $989.

IDRVSLO give us a call.

Thanks
Derrick

I ordered mine this afternoon. I really like the filter placement and think Corksport did a great job of retaining the factory under-hood appearance.
It is sort of costly, but I think it'll be worth it.

so inconclusion this fmic is;

1. A fmic
2. An intake
3. An Inlet pipe

Thats awesome, hopefully it performs well

Seeing as I have pulled off my TMIC about 1000 times now for different reasons. How hard is it to pull of the Intake part to get to the top of the motor? The TMIC is about 2mins tops.

Thanks.

seeing as how it uses all the stock mounting points i'm sure it comes off just as quickly as the top mount intercooler.
