I'd like a show of hands if anyone else has the following fittment issue with the midpipe. Notice the bend after the cross-brace which causes the piping to drop down out of the tunnel.

Due to that bend, there are some fittment issues I've been sort of ignoring due to lack of time to deal with it. I wanted to make sure nobody else had a similar issue before spending more money on another midpipe from corksport (in hopes of proper fittment).

Thanks.

And for those of you running the full race-pipe setup without fittment issues, please post up and let me know fittment was good.

Not every one comes on the forum everyday like I do bud :)

With patience, they will come lol

Hey, did you pm Derrick 1st to ask him about it?

i'll check tomorrow if i remember. So basically you want me to check for that bend.. and also if the pipe drops lower than the rest of the exhaust system? Are you worried about bottoming it out on something?

I run the whole racepipe system and do have a slight drop right there. Not as bad as yours but it droops just a bit. I haven never scraped it, too badly, on anything. My front end will scrape before I hit that. I've had it for over a year and just a week ago I checked everything put underneath the car and there is minimal scratching on it.

The fittment issue is that at the connection to the racepipe the piping sits to high, rendering the exhaust hangar useless (weight is supported by the racepipe), and at the back end the muffler section has to be shifted to line up the flanges and the piping (just before the muffler unit) comes in contact with the heat shielding and the rear tip is decentered as well. The owner at one of the muffler shops I went to swapped out one of the muffler hangars for a longer one, and that let the muffler drop down just enough not to constantly rattle.

I had been running it that way for awhile but recently it started irritating me again, since I noticed from standing outside the car a soft rattle can often be heard, that is solved by me moving the muffler a bit. I have mentioned it to derrick/corksport and they looked into it and couldn't tell what the problem was. We are still in communication though and trying to figure it out.

I just want the system to fit properly, and since I haven't heard anyone else complain I figured trying another midpipe might be easier than having a muffler shop do some custom work. Edit: just found out a separate midpipe purchase is not possible at this time from them. Bummer.

I had a problem not too long ago that I broke the resonator on my racepipe and had to have another one sent over. THAT rattling was so annoying. After the installation of the new one I had a slight rattle because it was at a different angle than the old one and was tapping the heat shield but after a while it set itself in and stopped rattling. Other than that I've never had an issue. The exhaust doesn't budge for me even when I kicked it while working on the car.

Swapped wheelsets and noticed a good spot to stick a camera to capture the problem area.
