Corksport B Spec Mazda2

So, now that the CorkSport 2 is a track car, what are you going to use for developing your street-oriented products for the 2?

The nice thing about a B-Spec car is you still have a mostly stock car to do product testing on (as long is it is not interior, lol)

That's a good point. I guess you'll just have to swap stuff back and forth a lot to test stuff that's not B-Spec legal.

Excellent vid/editing, and excellent driving! 20 seconds within significantly more modified and faster cars is very respectable.

I'm so stoked for b-spec 2s!!

I would like to get the lap times down another 2-3 seconds. We have made a few adjustments on the 2 for the next time out on the track.

So are/were you using the off the shelf Bilstein PSS's, or the revalved one's from Mazdaspeed? Also, I finally got a chance to watch the video in the first post, all I can say is wow. That's some real professional stuff there.

Ready to start laughing??? Stock Struts and shocks where used filming that video.

So, what kinda fuel mileage did you guys get? haha.

It actually is really impressive, flat out in 4th gear at 100mph the car says it is getting 11.2 MPG. One session driving around the track uses up 1/4 tank. Really cheap gas bill at the track.

Say Whaaaaat? That's some hustle on the 2 though with the stock dampers.

It does really well with them for handling. I will see what I can get for video at the next event with the porsches in the same run group in the corners. There are several cars which are slower than the 2 is.

I really want to lower my MT and get new wheels for it, but I can't justify it with how well the 2 handles right out of the box.

Impressive driving btw -- looks SO fun! Someday I hope to do that with mine, but meanwhile will live vicariously through you all B-spec'ers.

We will have the Mazda 2 up at the Ridge Raceway (in Shelton WA) in July for a SCCA event. You can always stock by the pits and take a look in person.
