Coolant leaking, blown head gasket or else?

Well problem is found already. Head gasket is blown thats why there is coolant is that cylinder. Also its very possible that the head is warped or cracked. Bring car to mechanic asap.

no, not if it never over heated.

uh you still wanna get it checked.

well, fair enough. The head's got to come off anyway to replace the gasket. Usually, if you take it to a shop with any kind of competence they check it regardless.

Blown headgasket. I had this same problem. I thought it was my aftermarket catch can because the coolant kept overflowing from the radiator to the can. So then I ended up simply adding coolant every few weeks, until it ended up overheating one day. I had JUST put in coolant a few days prior when this happened, so I was REALLY surprised.

I ended up taking it to a local Mazda dealer to run the leak down test. It was the head gasket. Luckily the car didn't get any head damage and it just needed a new head gasket. I bought a Cometic and had it installed. No problems overheating since then.

I thought a blown head gasket is always caused by overheating. Yes? no?

If it end up being a blown head gasket I think I will get the head checked out.

I am going to try to start pulling the engine apart this weekend or the next one, hope it is a blown head gasket and not a cracked block.

headgasket can be popped from boost too
PO was probably a hack

Pull head, have it hot tanked and cleaned, checked and resurfaced if warped. Replace headgasket and other bits that you can. Reassembly is opposite of removal. Done
