Coolant Catch Can

I was surprised when I remove one to take the pic. They did supply the hose clamp. Strap the can and the curved bracket and tighten. That will give you the mounting holes for the can. The other bracket is for adjustments, and for a vertical mounting hole.

Remember the center fitting is the one with the tube. That one goes to the radiator. Use the small hose clamps to tighten the hose, if not it will leak and no suction. The other one is your overflow output, you can leave it without a hose, or just run the hose so the overflow goes to the pavement.

ahh.. I get the idea... but I'm not sure if that's secure enough.
If not I will just attached it to cup holder :D

pirana, i'm sorry i missed out on the overflow tank. any chance you'll do it again? i'd like to get a red one. thanks!!

I'll keep calling them, to see if they get more. But he told me it will be awhile before they get anymore, specially the chrome ones. I know there are a few blue ones left.

Hey Pirana, I would like a blue one. I missed out on the first group buy, is there a chance they might still be able to get a blue one for me at the same cost?

I have no idea. I threw mine away a long time ago. I send them on the package since it was included, didnt want to cheat you out of anything that came in it. But my guess, is that since this are oil catch cans, it has to do with the venting of the valve cover. Those pieces are pretty cool, machined aluminum, but no use for us.

thanks man. im going to put it in tonight.

What's the center piece for? The one with two claps and smaller hoses on each side?

We dont know, but you dont needed for the coolant reservoir.

Also I have no idea who makes it, obiously it comes from Taiwan.

Cool thanks. I'm going to go to Pep Boys or some place and get some steel braided lines to dress it up a bit. Like you have on yours Victor.

Anyway, thanks. When do you think you'll be doing the How To?

Dont know, big show this coming week, got to get ready. Also ELEmental lives on the other side of Texas, so we got to do a get together.

anyone who's doing for chrome ones please let me know how you will be mounting yours since chrome one's don't have welded brackets.
I mean product is awesome, no doubt about that.
but I don't feel secure and safe enough to put hose clamp and Strap the can and the curved bracket and tighten

You will not have any problems. All the other cans are hold the same way. These ones were the only ones with a welded bracket until now. But dont worry. Its no going anywhere. If you have a doubt, use some double face 3M tape to hold the bracket and then attach the hose clamp. Just so it wont slide out. But I assure you if you tighten it, it wont come undone. Try it.

Holy, I just clicked at the above link. I like those. Might check those out since I might want to change my power steering can when they are available.

Good find! I like the 08-100 bracket.

I was going to get that for the OBX catch can but it's not large enough to hold that can. Think I measured 10 to 10 inches around.

PM ME IF YOU WANT TO BUY THIS FROM ME. I PAID $45 plus shipping. It's never been used!

thanks pirana and sorry about whinning :)
double side tape.. I have to buy a lot of parts for this weekend :) yeah~~~

It's the coolant can. Yeah, it came with one large hose clamp for the can and one small one for the hose to the tank. This is a Universal part. It was not designed for Protege's only.....

Is that the power steering or coolant. Those come with hose clamps also.

well guys, I took mine for a short test drive. (It's close to 100 degrees out) I've got everything set up the way Victor suggested. I popped the hood and I can see coolant collecting from the top-center fitting. I tighten everything one more time. Cleaned away all fluids and fired up the car again. In less than one minute I had a puddle of coolant collecting in the same area.

I think that a T fitting on the bottom will work better. That way it will feed from the can like it did with the plastic one.

What do you guys think?
