Coolant Catch Can

THe shifter thing, is a project by itself. I knock myself for not taking pics of the process. I thought no one woulb be interested in such a mod. It was drasticall. Had to cut the shifter about 3", grind it and cut wires. The boot had to be cut and hold with an elastic spring.

Regarding the can, its easy. I will do ELEmental's (if he hasnt done his yet) and will post the pics.

i have the sportmatic thing. i just want to add a boot to it... would it be that hard to buy a factory boot and somehow lift the little black square that holds the plastic cover thing down and insert a boog into it. maybe pics will help. i'll be PMing you with questions about this. i've been itching to do this since i saw yours.

Probably need to remove the little black ring, and also remove the shifter gate. But I do not know if you need that piece or the actual gate is underneath. Then the boot will fit since the bottom part of the console already holds the factory boot.

Hey can I pick up some of that tubing from you? Also, would you help me swap out my coolant and transmission fluid? You mentioned wanting to drive a stock P5 to compare to your boosted car, and you could also do that when I come by. PM me.

those arrow part came bended, I mean it is not straight. is that normal? I can't really judge from pictures. or maybe it's not big deal. :)

I have no idea. They looked normal to me. Is the package in good shape?

Try filling it with water, and see what happens. As long as they dont leak I suppose its ok. Let us know.

package was in good condition and I just tested with water, and no leaking!!!! good~~~~
no leaking = no problem
Thanks pirana.
btw, when are you going to install these to ele's car? because I was going to install these this sat.
yup I noticed chorme ones don't have welded bracket...
I have no idea where and how to mount them:p I suck!!!

I was surprised when I remove one to take the pic. They did supply the hose clamp. Strap the can and the curved bracket and tighten. That will give you the mounting holes for the can. The other bracket is for adjustments, and for a vertical mounting hole.

Remember the center fitting is the one with the tube. That one goes to the radiator. Use the small hose clamps to tighten the hose, if not it will leak and no suction. The other one is your overflow output, you can leave it without a hose, or just run the hose so the overflow goes to the pavement.

hey vic, what is the small lenght tube, that has the two ends on it (one end has a hole, and the other is sealed) what is it for? and your right it is a perfect match for the laser mica blue

I have no idea. I threw mine away a long time ago. I send them on the package since it was included, didnt want to cheat you out of anything that came in it. But my guess, is that since this are oil catch cans, it has to do with the venting of the valve cover. Those pieces are pretty cool, machined aluminum, but no use for us.
