Considering aluminum wrap of piano black strip dash...

..and need to know best way to remove trim strip from dash and the best option for a brushed aluminum wrap that will match rest of trim bits in cabin.

Use one of those plastic trim removers. At the far right end(vertical) poke the tool in and pry it out, then grab it and start pulling on it , move with the pulling toward the center of the car.

Pull it out gently. You can do it with your fingers starting from the right right end as mentioned above.

I did it in 3M 1080 Brushed Aluminum. Dash trim is easy to do with a heat gun, but the 2013 center console shifter trim is a pain.

I'm wondering how I can get a sample of 3M 1080. Pics I've seen appear to be a different look than aluminum used on rest of cabin.
