I've got some kind of program installed on my computer that keeps adding hyperlinks into anything and everything written that pops up on my computer. I've seen them in emails and already on this site in the few minutes I've been here. If I click the link, it takes me to some website related to the word I clicked. If the someone types love, it'll put a link to a dating website. If you type car, it'll link me to a car loan website, etc. I've tried using Adaware and Spybot to remove any traces of it, and it's not working. Has anyone seen this before or know how to get rid of it?

EDIT: WOW, 4 popped up in that paragraph alone. (computer, dating, car and loan). This is bugging the hell out of me....

Is that going to completely remove everything from my computer or what? As in music, pics, all downloaded programs?

Couple things:
1. Did you update your ad-aware like you're suppose to? Make make you update the definition files and do a scan again.

2. It could possibility be viruses. If you have antivirus installed, update your definition files and do a scan. If you don't or can't update definition files, then go to housecall.trendmicro.com to do a free online scan there.

3. D/L Spybot - Search and Destroy, update definition files and scan it.

4. What browser are you using? Internet Explorer? If you are, try using FireFox or Maxthon to see if the problem still presist.

re-install your os start from scratch. quit looking up porn and other related things like dating sites etc. clear all cookies frequently.

I just switched to Firefox and I love it.....but my ******* "autoscroll" doesnt work for one reason or another...which makes me want to not use the browser...WTF...I switch back to IE and my center mouse button can scroll!!! I checked the option in firefox and it is on...so I don't know whats up. Is Opera just as good?
Edit - now using Maxthon and everything seems fine, but is Maxthon just as vulnerable as IE because they are virutally the same program?

Wipe and Reload is always the best practice when you get to loaded with crap. Even Spybot and Adaware and SpyBlaster can get rid of everything..but a good old Format can save the day. (and lose you most of your data if you dont back it up)

I just need a new PC...reformatting is such a chore because I have to update everything for like 10 hours. I was going to buy some Dell bargain pack on impulse for 350something yesterday, but a friend convinced me to just build my own and it would be cheaper. What is a good site for building a computer cheap?

u'll prob have 2 go 2 various sites...zipzoomfly.com is 1 or even check out your local computer stores 4 parts...u can find pretty good bargains w/o the shipping and handling fees...don't do dell if u plan 2 upgrade...it's a sole proprietary unit...(unless u plan 2 only upgrade w/ dell)
