I can see the benefits. Especially if youare not close to your car when you want to start it (or if it is in a parking garage or something).

The compustar would work much better in a situation like that instead of the standard remote starters.

guys relax, I'll be hooking the whole thing up eventually, just wanted to get the remote start done first. It means more to me around here with the cold in the mornings.

i wouldn't suggest on buying an alarm with a remote start
if your driving a stick. A friend of mine once got run over with his own car. He was park infront of a coffee shop with his car infront of him. He thought of remote starting his car before he leaves so
as he press the remote start button....he didnt realize the the
shifter was on gear and BOOM ! (hand) His car went right into
him. He was OK though.....

Also if the car alarm that your going to buy has a Kill Relay,
i suggest you not bother installing this option. First if this
***** up, your car wont start (unless you have an extra one).
Second, thief can still hotwire your car eventhough you have
this option. So save yourself the trouble and not install this
POS.

The Compustar will not work if you have it in gear! Unless of course you don't install it properly!

Do a search for neutral trigger wire.. I posted a diagram with 2 relays on how to wire it up on a manual protege with it not starting in gear.

LOL, compustar a POS. I think you are very mistaken my friend. With the compustar it is impossible to start it in gear...

it is not possible to start the car while it is in gear IF INSTALLED poperly. If you got a moron installer, then sure, anything bad can happen.

Compustar is an excellent alarm.
