compatible Motor swaps - '88 B2600

I was wondering what motors will swap right into my b2600, with very little if any fabrication, that bolt right to the tranny

The only other engines I know that bolt to the transmissions are rotaries and JE V6 engines. The bolt pattern is unique to those motors.

There is a small chance one of the diesel engines might work but I have never see one in person to confirm.

ok so the JE SOHC v6 will be a direct swap into the 2600? Im going to be picking one up soon and looking to do a swap of the 4cyl.

I have seen three B-series trucks with the JE engines installed. 1 had a DOHC engine and the other 2 were SOHC engines.

Ok nice. Between the cx7, speed3, and the merc montego, we miss having a truck in the fam and lookin to get b-series like used to have before, pre-ford ranger lol. Been lookin around for a few and was tossing aroung the idea for a swap for a little more power. Any issues reguarding the ecu from the 2.6 to the 3.0?

Get everything electrical from the 929 engine bay. They are different beasts.
