how simple is it to install? simple

can a average joe like me install it? hope so

is it factory warrented? no

does it void my warrenty with carmax? no, put stock back on before you make a claim

what's a good brand i hear K&N make good Intakes any suggestions? injen

INJEN!!! all the way there really easy to instal or for me it was. lol took about 2 hours though but it was the frist thing we did to the car

I have the stock intake with a drop in k&n filter and everything past the air box removed, would there be any improvements over this by getting a CAI?

And to answer your question, Ive heard there not too hard to install and the k&n and ingen are good choices.

there will be a small improvement, but intakes on N/A cars are not big power adders, but rather a small piece of the power puzzle. but yes, there would be a small improve ment due to the reduction of friction by using a smoother, better rounded tube and a filter that has more surface area to grab air.

yes, more air in doesnt do a whole lot unless you get more out. I like to tell my customers that buying an intake is essentially the first part of the their exhaust system, its all related and every area needs to be addressed to maximize performance.

So a CAI, headers, and a cat back will help me out how much? And do you think its really worth the money spent?

For all of that, id plan on spending about 1000 bucks. The bad part about it is, if you want power and dont want to spend big bucks on a turbo set up, you ahve to get these things. I would venture a guess at 10-20 whp gains. Doesnt sound like a lot, but couple that with a set of pulleys and a few other bolt on goodies, and you will notice a difference.

depends on what you want outta your car. If your into styling more than performance, id put a nice sounding exhaust on it and then focus on looks.

If you really want to be more performance oriented, youll have to decide the level of performance you want and then start saving some cash. Keep in mind though, performance is not just about power. It also includes tuning your suspension to maximize the power and upgrading the brakes to control the extra power.

Yeah, well I think ive given up on the whole performance thing, its costing me more money than I have, some suspention upgrades and an axle-back exhaust and im gonna finish my exterior.

Don't forget to remove the VTCS from the intake manifold, hi-flow catted midpipe generally doesn't come with most exhausts-they are catback in most cases. No need for bigger than 2.25 if non-turbo- NA doesn't produce enough flow fo mo unless you go big & do valves, cams, forged internals, etc., then 2.5 might be OK.

What will removing the VTCS do?
It will remove a useless set of butterflies from the intake/head junction that are only there to tumble the air until the car warms up. Cold start emissions thing. It may be useful in places that actually have cold weather but in southern TX & FL just useless air flow interference. The VICS are the ones farther back in the intake & they are are good. Don't remove those. They route air through the intake via longer or shorter path to the head based upon rpm. These are beneficial. You can do a search on VTCS for more detailed info. Mo flo doncha know

can u take out all the air intake s*** before the box where the filter is on the stock intake and get more power? basically would be left with a box with a whole in it, can i do this?>

Well theres really only one piece to take off, heres a pic of what im running right now, its basically a SRI with a box around a filter instead of the cone, heck i could probably just stick a cone filter on there instead of the box if i wanted too.

I dont know how much more power, but it does help some, its getting more air for sure.

More air in is pointless if there is no way to get more air out. That's NA of course.
