Cold air-intake or a short ram?

in my opinion i would just do a short ram and maybe find or make your own heat shield for the filter just becasue if you go with cold air there is possibilities of sucking up water and hydro locking the motor.... OR just keep stock airbox and throw in a K&N drop in

Sucking up water & hydro locking the motor. Not going to be happy with the result. I took off my stock airbox. I guess I'll be looking into a short ram. A short ram I had in mind was AEM. Any other short rams?

depending on what you want to spend you can get an ebay short ram

A lot of guys have success with eBay parts. I just ordered an eBay exhaust :P but short ram for sure, you could even buy pre bent piping and just get couplers and make your own if you felt inclined to do so

But throw on a K&N cone filter while your there, the ones supplied with eBay kits are often junk

lol your only going to hyrdolock if you drive through puddles that are as deep as your fender at slow speeds. Realistically the arguement is invalid.

I heard AEM dryflow bc the synthetic material is better and doesn't have to be oiled meaning it lasts longer. And not necessarily a puddle at slow speeds. Any moisture on the filter or in the motor is bad news so why even risk it?

Just go with ebay like I did!

^ +1 for clean a$$ engine bay. Also droppy did you paint the pipes yourself? if so, what paint did you use?

I sure did! I bought some cheap, spray paint (primer and black and some clear).. And thanks BTW!

sweeeeet, all i need is primer then :D I got the paint and clear, did you get high heat or just regular?

then again, I have an evo hood with vents.. Helps some of that heat escape. It does get hot but not too much.

ohh, ok. well ill try normal spray paint, and if thats peels ill just get high heat :P thanks again!
