is this even possible?

I've been reading around, and the fmi kits that I've seen don't look like they would work with any kind of cold air setup. I have the CP-E one. Looks like it is going to be top mount for me.

depends on the brand of FMIC. In most cases it seems that the intakes could be slightly modified with a coupler and a few clamps to rotate the filter and allow the hot side pipe to clear the drivers fender.

i think the corksport front mount kit relocates the intake to the hood scoop for cold air - to me, that sounds like the best solution

did you miss the part where I said I already had an intake?

I don't think it will work with a front mount because the piping seems to occupy the same space in the fender cavity.

Just wait for CP-es fmic to come out... you have their intake right??

yeah, but I'm wondering how soon they plan on actually releasing it. it's been under development for so long who knows. I guess right now I'm saving for the cobb AP when it comes out. I really like CP-E's downpipe/midpipe combo, but I want to go catless and they don't have a check engine light fix yet. ugh.

Im running the MS CAI and the Begi FMIC. Loads of room for both. Hot pipe runs along the left side of the bay. Only worry was whether the turbo manifold upgrade would fit... but now that its on(the FMIC), it doesnt look like there will be any problem with it either.

like, duh, yeah - but, your thread title is "cold air intake + front mount intercooler" then the first thing you say is "is this even possible?" my response was yeah, its possible, corksport has done it. i don't recall reading in your post that you wanted a frontmount to work with your existing intake. maybe you should should change your thread title to "is there a front mount to work with my cp-e intake?"

rrrroowwwwrrrrr!!

lol you people are funny.

and I'm not going to buy a new intake just to put a front mount on.

I'll check out the begi. thanks!

not trying to be a dick, but you really need to get out of the whole "right now"' mentality.
When you try and mod a car as new and as limited as the ms3, you're going to have to wait on some specific parts.
The AP will have an o2 light fix I believe, so thats something else to check into if you want the cpe combo.

You're gonna have to if you want a FMIC right now... Just sell your old intake and get a new CAI. It's not rocket science, I don't know why you had to devote an entire thread so that you could find out what you already knew...
