Hi all, I just got P5 with 87k on her right now and planning to spend sometime replacing spark plugs, wires but not sure if it is good idea to change coil packs also. does NGK have coil packs for P5, if they don't, what's the best fit for NGK plugs and wires?
Both front side calipers are really rusty almost in red color, any suggestions making it look better?

last quick stupid question is how much I should expect shops charge for t-belt replacement on my P5 with water pump?
Thanks!!

Welcome and Congrats!

For plugs just use good ol' standard NKG's. I wouldn't bother with the wires or coil packs unless you are noticing some issues. If you do end up replacing them, the wires and packs at your local auto parts store are good enough. Don't go crazy and spend a lot of money on aftermarket wires (looks > function).

Pull the wheels and spray some brake cleaner on the calipers and use a wire brush. That should help with the rust, guessing it might just be surface and the car hadn't been driven in awhile? After cleaning them up go ahead and paint them.

My mechanic quoted me $850 (approx) to replace the t-belt, water pump, acc. belts, idlers, etc etc about 1 1/2 years ago. Manual recommends replacement at 105k, I'm at 132k on my original and know plenty of others that have driven more.

$850...wowdeng it's couple times more than what Ive paid for tax on her
are there ways to check t-belt without stopping by a shop?
thanks for your tips I will brush and paint the calipers.

I'm pretty sure you can check it by removing the valve cover. I'd recommend having a new vc gasket on hand before removing it though. At that mileage I wouldn't want to re-use it after removing it.

If you haven't found them yet, be sure to check out http://www.onlinemazdaparts.com Jason is a great guy and offers a nice little discount on OEM parts. And anytime I have ordered parts from him I get them faster than if I had bought them from my local dealer.

Just remove the top half of the timing belt cover. You can look at it. But it needs to be replaced every 105K miles. If you have no idea if it has been done and you have over 105K miles - then change it.
