So just got it on the car...seems to be fine...followed instructions..greased up the brackets real good..torque everything down..BUT.......yes theres a BUT..on the "endlinks" when you thread the nut back on-right and left side..it wont tighten down all the way..meaning once you get it hand tight..then a turn with the wrench its done..if you keep turning the whole bolt will turn with it..so this is as tight as I can get it..Im "assuming this is normal" and hows it designed..or is it? the other bolts where the brackets go on..went on just fine interms of torqing them down all the way. Side note..when I go over bumps its louder in the back..kinda like a bonking sound.

i just installed cobb rear bar and seemed fine. no squeaking or any weird noises. take the nuts/bolts out and try again?

No that doesnt mean its tight. The bolts turn with the nuts at a certain point. On the end of the bolts there are holes for an allen wrench to hold it still while you tighten it up further. See if that helps.

haha helps alot!.....I didnt even see those dam little holes at the end of the bolts..but I got r done..Much better. Thank you :)

Good to know - thanks for posting this thread since I'm in chubbs position, too. I have my Progress RSB coming soon.

No problem guys. I would also recommend using some loctite, the red kind works pretty good. It will really help those bolts stay in there.

yep, the endlinks spin around, just did the install myself this weekend and had to hold one down with an allen when removing, but putting it back it grabbed and tightened no problem. the bracket bolts and endlink nuts suppose to be torqued between 30-40 lb/ft, the brace bolts 27-38, and all thread-locked (i used the red stuff). also use synthetic grease (not petroleum based), i used Green Grease available at any auto parts store.

Not to be a jerk, but hominemodi, are those torque specs accurate? Did you get them from the service manual? I just want to be sure because I just downloaded the Cobb install instructions for reference and they didn't have any torque specs in there.

Also, would blue loctite be sufficient or is it not strong enough?

no problem, it's a completely pertinent question; yes, the values are from the service manual. and good point, i don't know why cobb and others put out an installation manual omitting such critical info. i think blue loctite is good enough on suspension; for engine and other vibrating parts i'd use the red though. here's the page from the manual

Superb! Thanks so much for the service manual page and for understanding. I have the Service Manual downloaded via PDF, but couldn't get any results through the search of over 2,900 pages :)
