yeah I saw your videos. it probably was mostly due to the correct gapping of the plugs causing a more consistent spark across all cylinders. if I were you, I would pull the plugs after about 200 miles and send pictures of all of them with labels (cylinder #s) to cobb and see if they think anything is up. did you take pictures of the other 3 you pulled?
aaronc7 had originally started some threads and we worked with him to figure out what mechanical problems were affecting his car. I would like to thank him for his patience, and I suggest that you do not run more than 15,000 miles on our spark plugs, especially since the car is running slightly higher boost levels. Even iridium or platinum plugs do not last long IMO. I would highly suggest you make this part of your standard maintenance procedures.
Please understand that your MS3 vehicles needs to be properly maintained for the AccessPORT (AP) calibrations to perform properly.
Tuning your vehicle is not going to fix a mechanical problem. I would like to spend some time this week composing a document that is to go with EVERY MS3 AP. The document should read "READ THIS DOCUMENT BEFORE YOU ATTEMPT TO INSTALL THIS DEVICE TO YOUR VEHICLE" and it should cover every TSB that Mazda has released to date, a maintenance list reviewing what should have been done to this vehicle in order to properly maintain it BEFORE you can install the AccessPORT, and a list of possible diagnosing procedures to help determine what mechanical problem the vehicle may be suffering from. I would like to get the original .pdf TSBs so we can host them on our website. This may take me more than a week to complete due to the time it will take me to track down the official TSBs and factory service manual. Although, I will be sure to post the document for all MS3 owners to read and educate themselves. Please let me know if you can think of anything that we should add to this document.
On another note, please understand that you can ruin your coils by overdriving them if you try to operate them with poor or bad spark plugs. Please be aware that this may be a consequence of running the car with poor plugs for a long duration.
As for shipping us your labeled spark plugs:

I will be able to access the findings and post what we suggest after some additional sets are sent to us. Would you like a
free Cobb hat for your offerings? They are actual nice IMO. If so, please e-mail me your shipping address,
christian@cobbtuning.com This offer is good to the first 5 people that can send me their used stock plugs with some information as to what fuel you were using, what boost levels, what mileage is on them, and
what cylinders they are from. 2 down.
Thanks,
Take care,
Christian.
