Clutch slipping

So, last night my clutch started slipping real bad under load.

I have a few Q's. Sorry in advance; I tried to look up the Q's already on this forum, but to no avail.

Anways -
It's got 103,5xx miles. Original clutch. Bought it at 98,500.
I have been getting on it quite a bit lately w/ my new mods. however, I don't do any dumps. I only floor it after the clutch is completely out.

Before I added the mods, I did feel a little slipping, but figured it was the AC compressor or something turning on. The RPM did not jump when I felt this - (It jumps now!)

How many miles do you think I can get before it totally goes? I'm driving like a grandma now.

Also, I'm thinking about putting in a stage one. Is it worth it?

Pro v. Cons will be nice, as well as which brand to get.

one more thing - would squeeling the wheels while turning **** up a clutch? I did this a couple times - (the tires would slip all through first after the corner since there's no LSD) - but stopped since it just seemed bad for the car.

Any real abuse can put wear on a clutch. You said you don't dump it which helps but even hard acceleration, high rpm shifting, and no saying you do, but if you don't shift very well. There's a lot of things. I know my last car had 120k-ish before i replaced it with me beating the s*** out of it and some cars if you always drive like a grandma it'll work for a long time.

As far as how long you can last that depends, it'll start to slip more and more easily. Just pay attention to it and I would suggest when you do it to do it all if you're looking to upgrade. Clutch, pressure plate, maybe a lightweight flywheel?

Brands I apologize I'm not sure. I've never personally shopped for them for this car but I bet someone can chime in.

You can get a combo deal from PG... its a fidanza light flywheel w/ a spec clutch. Talk to Ken, he'll hook you up. That's what I'm running in my car and I love it (stage2 clutch).

I have an exedy stage 1, I recommend it. Not that stiff and very driveable. Stage 1 clutch will last much longer than an oem. Thats why I usually upgrade whenever I replace clutches.

Remember to get a new flywheel or re-surface it to take care the cold clutch chatter problem.

Ya I wish I could have afforded a lightweight flywheel when my trans got rebuilt and I put in the stage 1... Just didn't have the money tho. But definitely get the flywheel resurfaced if you don't replace it.

I believe our flywheel is a dual mass flywheel... resurfacing may not be an option.

I ended up just buying a light flywheel for mine so I don't know for sure... I've just heard different opinions on resurfacing dual mass flywheels.

Our cars do not have dual-mass flywheels, so they can be resurfaced without question.(cabpatch)

A car that does have a dual-mass flywheel is the Mazdaspeed3. The NA version of the 3 does not.
