Clutch Pedal Squeeeeak

Recently, when I press and depress the clutch pedal it makes a squeaking noise(not coming from the trans, but the clutch pedal assembly). Is there a simple lube/grease fix for this problem? The pedal also is starting to get harder to press. Also, I had the master cylinder replaced last year, could they've messed up something?

mine has squeeked ever since i bought it almost 3 years ago....no idea why...would be nice to get ride of it though

If your clutch pedal is not silky buttery smooth then you are missing out big time. After beefing up my left leg for the past 3 months I figured it was time to fix the classic errrrrrr sound and over firmness during clutch engagement.

The release bearing needs lubriction every now and then. For me its around every 90KM of mixed city and highway traffic.

I use graphite lubricant I buy from CT. Make sure to get the one that clearly says "for high temperatures". This stuff resists dirt and dust great and last a long time. It 5.99 and if you use if solely for this purpose a can will last you the life of the car.

1. go under car and loosen the IC to TB pipe.
2. Slide off the lower section of the pipe from the intercooler. (this gives you easier access and takes 10 seconds)
3. Carefully slide the slave cylinder out of position so there is plenty of room to pull the rubber gromet from the transmission
4. Pull off the gromet/ boot thing going into the trans where the slave cylinder meets the (insert technically correct term here, some call it engagement arm, some say bearing fork etc. call it whatever the hell you want just remove the gromet enough that you can easily slide in and manuver a spray can long red plastic tip thing)
5. Give a good spray, try to focus you spray more to the right.
6. Put clutch slave back into position.
7. Go into car and pump the clutch.
8. Go back out and move slave out of the way and again spray liberally.
9. Put slave back in place, go pump the clutch. reinstall IC pipe. tighten with ratchet, not screwdriver
10. Relearn how to drive a car with a sliky smooth, better than new clutch pedal feeling. If yours was lacking lubrication badly like mine was the car will feel like new again and much easier to drive in traffic.
11. drive around town giving plenty of right foot input (you need to bulk up the muscle to get even with your overly beefed left foor from all those months of hard clutching)
12. pay speeding tickets
13. send $2 to happy dude, 742 evergreen ter. springfield

Yeah, mine is doing it, just started last week. I barely notice it, but it drives my girlfriend insane... I'm going to use white lithium grease on the linkage to see if that takes care of it...

White lithium grease works perfect on the linkage. Just sprayed a bunch on mine yesterday. Don't freak out if the pedal loses pressure though, just pump it a few times until the squeak goes away.
